Vent window rubber installation

Does anybody have any tips or tricks in replacing the vent window rubber seals on a 70 charger? Metro seals instruction says to use some adhesive on the vertical strip and cut slots in the back to keep it from wrinkling. I am using the seals from precision because they look better.

I recently did the ones in my 69' bee and used precision gaskets. The fit was good I used a bit of soapy water on them and installed. I will say I had my vent frames out when I did it and they went in fine.

If your good you can remove the door trim panel, remove the roll pin at the bottom of the vent glass and pull the glass out without removing the entire frame.

Mine are all a part after being
re chromed. I JB welded the inner vent seal track to the new chrome piece last night. Everything looked good but after wrestling with the new seals and trying to get them in one of the welded spots came loose. Now I got start over.

The best thing to use to reassemble the frames is panel bond. I used loctite E-120HP takes 24 hrs to cure but it will make parts like one again. And again use some very soapy water in a spray bottle to get the seals to lock in the channel. I used nothing more than soap and my hands they went fairly easy. Ignore the metro instructions if your using precision the set I used had the notches molded in and needed nothing but installed. I did them about 3 months ago and they look great.

Wipe with wd 40, start at the inside corner. Use weather strip sealer in the corner if there is asmall gap, per the maintenance manual. I found a hammer and block of wood helpful

Thanks for the advise. I don't think my water was soapy enough. If it was I think Ibmight have gotten it on without breaking the bond.
