THANK YOU ALL for your support through this process. Especially OUTLAW525, your contribution was beyond words..:hello2:

I thought that after a few revs it started to sound like something was not right. Yet nothing was mentioned by him after exiting the car. I bet dollars to doughnuts that it ain't right...Just My 2 Cents...cr8crshr/Tuck

I remember being that age and my dad and uncles firing up mopars......Ill never forget it!

Alright, what are you saying isn't sounding right. I know it isn't perfect. I haven't tuned the carb or even set the timing. I installed a new cam and had to keep the rpm's up so I can keep the cam lubricated during break in. My goal was to get it started and break in the cam. But due to oil leaks and fuel leaks I couldn't run it long enough.

Keep at it. You'll get it squared away. Even though it wasn't directed at me, I appreciate that you so graciously thanked all those that helped you get this far. Great feeling to hear it run, wasn't it? Bet your son is loving it big time...

Thats cool, keep at it.I'm always nervous at a new fire and cam break in.

I had mine started on the dyno tune after 35 years in storage. Of course this was a newly rebuilt motor. The dyno guy says if all is okay it'll start in seconds. I held my breath and the motor started right up. I understand what the motor above is going thru. Give him a chance and she's going to run like a champ. Takes time and a bit of tuning to get it just right!

Congrats, 12 years is a long time to hear your car run, that's an awesome achievement!

I can't wait to hear more, thanks for sharing.

Brett, It was cool to see the video of your first fire and and see your little guy in the seat beside you. Don't let the naysayers bother you. Keep working at it and give me a holler if you have any questions.

I don't know how I missed this the first time round? Sounds mucho better than before, what was the knocking and what all you do fix wise from a few months ago?

Thank you. The fan was hitting the bottom of the radiator by a hair. I just added a couple washers between the fan and the factory style fan clutch to space it back. I also had to replace the carburetor. I just installed the new one (770 street avenger). It's still not perfect, but I have to get some good gas in it and vacuum tube the carb.

RR - engine sounds good. Thanks for the video - gives me motivation to get off here and go rebuild a carb!
Have fun with it!

That had to feel good! I can't wait until it's my turn to turn the key. Good luck with tuning it further!
