Mt '79 300 came with a 1/2 vinyl roof, the material itself is in good shape but is fading. Is there something out there to bring it back to life? I'll get a few pictures later on.

SEM makes some good products to spray on. Might be the way to go.

I believe it was Turtle Wax that used to make a black vinyl top dressing. I had a tin of it 30+ years ago. Maybe there is some still around. It worked great on my Charger vinyl roof

Now that might be a good idea! Try it and let us know!

I might try it this weekend, the good thing about plasti-dip is, if you don't like it or it doesn't come out good, it peels right off!

A '79 300 with a vinyl roof ? Never seen one.

The weather here in eastern Massachusetts wasn't the best for any type of paint or plasti-dipping but here are a couple of pictures of the roof.

I don't remember the brand name but there was a wax like substance that I used on my vinyl roof that kept it looking like new. In fact it still does 45 years later. You rubbed it on and off. My top is black - I see yours is white. You can get the stuff at any of the big box auto stores.

That makes two of us!
Mine was a regular roof, that I had years ago when it was just a used car. I know a T-Roof was available. But never knew a vinyl/landau roof was available.

I have yet to see one or find anyone that has one. I saw a T-Top at Barrett Jackson two weeks ago sell for $5,000 (I started a thread on that) that's the only other one I have seen in the New England Area.

If you would consider recoating with some kind of paint-vinyl finish, do NOT put any kind of wax/acrylic finish on it, the new color coat will not stick without massive scrubbing and stripping.

I had a friend who used to change the color of his vinyl A body roof every year with various kinds of paints, and it always looked great. I have no idea what he used, this was 35 years ago.

I don't know about white, but back in '69 & '70 I used black liquid shoe polish. The one with the sponge tip (probably Kiwi). Worked great. Looked something like this.

I also had a guy change a black top to a white top on a white '71 Deville. Don't know what he used, but it was sprayed on and he guaranteed it forever.
