Hi

New member here

Guys I know this sounds a little weird and hopefully I don't offend anybody here but I want to know

"Is it possible to put a vinyl top on a coupe that did not originally have one?"

To me it seems like the only difference between vinyl and regular is the little piece of chrome trim on the rear roof line quarter. So has anybody ever done this, ever heard of this being done?

I know, i know you're asking me why would anyone even WANT to do this. Well honestly, I really like the look of the vinyl roof. So I'm asking

Pretty easy, ...........I have had to do it several times on restorations where the original Vinyls were removed by previous owners.

Yup. At the factory, the tops were installed BEFORE the windshield and rear window. This is because the trim retaining clips are installed on top of the top material to help hold it down.
