Viper facts

I owned one of these badass cars for a while. Extremely fun to drive if you know how to handle them. Sold it a few years ago mainly because I'm 6'5" weighing in at 240 lbs makes it difficult to get in and out of a Viper. The second reason I sold it was there was no doubt a Viper will put your drivers license in jeopardy every time it leaves the garage! The temptation for acceleration and high speed is very hard to fight.

I had one I bought from a friend, 1995, yellow. At 2500 RPM's in second gear it was a true machine and would run to about eighty. ANYTHING for the time, that was beside you was left in the distance and could only be seen in the rearview mirror. It pulled like a freight train. Wonderful car for the most part!! I gave one of about 15 original prototypes pictures taken at the Chrysler proving grounds and given to plant managers only to a good friend years ago. It was given to me by my friend that was the plant manager of my plant in Fenton. Little known fact, the lenses below the headlights, like many small parts were gotten from western auto for the original mock-up ............. Mock-up only. To me, it was a death trap and would slide around at any given time if you didn't treat it right. I had it about a year and sold it.

A friend of my son had to have it in his wedding, he begged me for months. He got his wish! His new wife said he was more excited about having the car in his wedding than getting married to her that day!!!! My son, third from the left. The stuff I have given away or let ours use in my life never ceases to amaze me. Stupid I guess...........

You need fast hands when the tires break loose. Great car I'm glad Chrysler built them. I was going to buy a Hellcat when they came out but the Hellcat's suspension has a "loose" feeling compared to the tightness of a Viper. I love the old Mopars but I have to confess this thing will run away and hide from them.

This SRT is floating around outside of AC, NJ. He picked up around Buffalo NY area

Before I bought my Satellite.

I was looking for , actually interested in a Viper GTS coupe. And couldn't find anything in my budget that wasn't either beat to hell or salvage title.
3rd choice was a 427 Cobra kit car . I bought a Hemi car instead

Viper is on my "win the lottery" list with a few other cars. Pretty close to the top actually.

My best friend had this ‘08 srt10 with the 8.4 for several months back in 2012. The viper and his 02 prowler lived at my house for a month or so. I did work on his cars and he paid me by leaving his toys for prolonged time with me. I learned to drive the car with my left wrist and right foot. Amazing what you can do with a street legal race car. There was nothing around in my area that could touch this thing. Including the crotch rockets around. I never got to go against my buddies gsx 1000 but I may not have kept up with that one. I can tell you that 206 mph is all it would do. Ran it all out one early morning in the cool air and after 4 miles of not increasing speed any further the run was over. After a week I told my friend it could could use more power.. lol. It’s surprising how quickly you get used to that kind of power. That is also on my lottery dream win of cars. But if I get the car I may not have a license.

I sat in one once and could barely close the door.
I was about 4 inches over the windshield, so no way the top could go up.

I'm not fat by any means- 6'3" and about 195 at the time 34/34 pants.

Scratch that car off my wish list.

Didn't Tom Selleck drive looking over the top of the 308 windshield?
