The PO of my car swapped the 318/904 for a 440/727... he however, did NOT change the column-shift linkage.
Awesome members on here alerted me to the fact that the 904 linkage is longer, as seen here. It was hitting/rubbing the transmission housing, so I don’t know how he got through putting it in the car without noticing.
This resulted in plenty of extra funny noises for me in the car. And the non-adjustable lower link has made reaching park entertaining.
