I have a 81 lebaron but I know all the chrysler products used the same system, so it is not a B body but the problem could be any model year. The car when running blows voltage regulators, the ammeter gauge peps it self at full charge any suggestions ?

Have you measured voltage at the battery when its running? Is the alternator is charging at 100% then check the field wire that goes from the alternator to the regulator for a short to ground.

if there is a bad connection somewhere causing the voltage regulator to only see a lower voltage it will keep "regulating" the alternator to put out a full load to get those volts up. I had one wire the voltage sensing wire that went to the regulator was broken and corroded so it only let a few volts pass through, it made my battery cable and post to heat up and turn black.

if all the wiring looks good, I'd say there's a short inside the alternator sending full voltage to the field and it's running wild.
