WANTED: 741 Case Sure Grip or inexpensive 742/489 with Suregrip

I don't have the coin for full priced parts here guys so I was wondering if anybody has a suregrip that is installed in a 741 case? I figure it would be cheaper since the case is weaker and its less desirable. I don't need more then the 741 case but would like to have the ability to leave two black lines.

The case is NOT weaker....supposed to be that the pinion is weaker since it's smaller but how many have you seen broken? They all have the same size spline where the yoke slips on so if anything, that's the weak spot. I have an extra 41 case but shipping it won't be too cheap. I also have a SureGrip too. If you're interested, let me know.

Just throwing this out there, but ebay has new clutch style suregrips for 385 if you dont find a member that has what your want/need price wise.

Let me know what you want for the suregrip. My case is good so no need to replace it. ( I knew about the diff between case and the gear sets, I generalized it by just saying case but thank you)

Zack, thanks, but I can probably find a complete assembled chunk for the similar price...most are $350-450 complete. All else fails I'll run my 2.94 open carrier and then later upgrade or replace. I was hoping to do it now while the whole housing is sitting in my garage rather then in the car but I can't justify $300. Maybe $200 or something but right now its more of a luxury but never hurts to ask!

Are there any swap meets near you?

Used ones go for 2-5 bills depending on condition and gear.

I've bought three in the past few years- two 3.23s and one 2.94.

The most I paid was $350 for the 2.94, because it's super clean from a 70K car.
