Was anyone else pumped to watch the Daytona 500 today?

Had to work (at home, and WAS really working), but was hoping to catch at least some of it.

Sucked it was called off today.
I had a few other things I wanted to do but put off because of the race.

Got the DVR set to record for tomorrow but I know someone at work is going to spill the beans.

For some reason races that are delayed a day just don't have the same excitement or intencity.

Just think of all of the people that made the journey and had to leave without seeing the race.

Watched the coverage for awhile but figured when they showed that radar it would be.

Instead of going out to eat after church we rushed home so I could watch the race. Dang, I don't have tomorrow off. tmm

Waited all afternoon. Dang, will get to see bits and pieces of it tomorrow.

Supposed to be today " Monday if rain allows" cross your fingers & toes, the storm passes like they think it will, now possibly it will run @ 7:00pm Eastern time & @ 4:00pm Pacific

Monday Night NASCAR. Are you ready for some racing!!!!!! Hope they get the race in tonight. Should get good ratings in primetime.

yep

I'm ready for sure, :iamwithstupid: & they need Faith Hill to open for them..LOL..., I got both my fingers & toes crossed...

I wonder how the teams will find different ways to tweak the new fuel injection, Seems to be working good at Daytona...

Dang, Montoya's car just broke and he slammed into a safety truck full of jet fuel.. BOOM! (he and truck driver are alright)

Yep, That was the biggest fire i ever seen at a Nascar race, 200 gallons of jet fuel i think they said... and a dump truck of Tide detergent to try to clean it up lol.. And its not over yet!

penske's dodges were the only reason i turned it on. there is nothing american about a yoda pace car and a yoda nascar cup car. how the hell those piles make it on to any american soil nascar track is beyond me. furthermore, i am hopeful petty enterprises doesnt put his guys into a chevies next year. the best a dodge could finish last night was 32nd position. extremely disappointing. hopefully the #2 miller lite dodge will kick everybodies *** this year. i would love to see that kind punishment laid out on every yoda and chevy on the track. at least a ford driver won , not all was lost

That jet dryer truck fire was something, fire fighters were way too slow to respond, you would think they would have gotten the fire trucks & the chemicals on there much faster, it got way out of hand, way too easily & you would think that they had a contingency plan for suck things, hell the trucks are hauling around 200 gallons of jet fuel & the trucks have 40+gallons of diesel on board, maybe even fell-cells in the jet dryer & safety trucks also... IMHO they were extremely lucky it wasn't right in front of the grandstands, luckily it happened on the back stretch... Kind of looked like a cluster F**K, I'll bet NASCAR will have a contingency plan for such things in the future... Why was Montoya trying to haul a$$ right next to the jet dryers in the first place, he should/could have easily built up his speed after the area were the trucks were... I'm pretty sure there is some kind of rule about speeds while under caution around the track workers... "I'm just saying"

Got home from work, turned on the TV, 5 laps in and under caution.. AWWWW YEEEA time to crack a brewski
I thought I had missed the beginning because I lost track of time. The last I had heard it was supposed to start around noon but then the weather channel mentioned rain there and it had been postponed again. Cool...but I cracked open a few too many brewskis because I fell asleep in my easy chair a short while after the fire....oh well.

What a Daytona 500 -- 3 days worth!!!!

WHat a wild and woolly race after all!!!!!

Wanted to see Danica crash -- that didn't take long.... For all the Danica lovers (midget!!), I know, technically it wasn't her fault...... too bad. Learn to drive like a MAN, Dan, not just swear like one.......

Montoya always makes things interesting, but that takes the cake!!!!!
He should probably be outlawed from Nascar, Busch (or whatever they call it this week...) and really all roads in America. He should take up bicycle racing -- and wear shoulder pads.

End was pretty predictalbe -- green, white, checkered and Roush And Jr. fans had the ultimate reasons to cheer...

See ya' in Phoenix....
