We need a new traffic law fast.

I've had it driving in NY .
KEEP RIGHT EXCEPT TO PASS orelse you get a traffic ticket.
These idiots just sit in the left lane and don't move to the right when your right behind them.
Then they play NASCAR on ya when go go to pass them on the right. Then they go right back to going slow. I found that these idiots get up to close to 90 mph just so you cant get in front of the me.
We need a new law fineing anyone crawling in the left lane and not moving over for upcoming cars!

SSR, they are going to do that here soon. Bill proposed to ticket in left lane if you don't pass and get over. Won't get a ticket if going over the speed limit to do it as long as traffic is steady and you are not driving reckless. I actually saw a cop pull one over for driving too slow in the left the other day. Man was that a happy sight. I honked as I drove by!!!!!!

we have that law in kansas.. we also have a law that states you must go in the farthest lane from stopped traffic on a shoulder or officers who are on the shoulder.

Have you ever looked at some of these idiots in the left lane,. I swear they all look 1/2 dead or brain dead.

Some of em around here think they are the self appionted speed police and will pull that crap. It gets real bad when they can get next to a slow tractor trailer or one of their like minded brethren and slow up traffic for as far they can see in the mirror.Others are,as said, totally oblivious to the situation and shouldn't be on the road.

California is just as bad if not worse. We get two sets of idiots blocking both lanes while driving UNDER the speed limit texting or talking on the phone. And no matter what, neither one will budge.

That's something that always gets me when I go to the States

Whilst it's the accepted rule over here in the UK to 'keep left unless overtaking' - remember it's ***-about-face over here :icon_lol: (so, for 'left', read 'right') - that doesnt mean everyone sticks to it. Usually BMW & Audi drivers that think they're exempt :angry1:

I think the police would pull someone over if they were blatantly ignoring this, but they'd more likely give them a stiff talking to and a reminder of the rules of the road, rather than give them a ticket/fine/point on their license.

We call it 'lane discipline', but like 'courtesy', 'discipline' goes out the window when some people get behind the wheel :jerk:


But you get a £60 fine & 3 points on your license (license taken away at 12 points) if caught using a cell phone.
Still doesnt stop people tho.

That problem has become an issue nationwide in recent years. I used to think it was just in NC but as I traveled the country I find it happening all over. Funny thing is that years ago you didn't see it to this extent. People only pulled out into the left lane to pass and then went back to the right. They also used blinkers to make both moves. Now I see cars move onto the highway and proceed directly into the left lane as if that is where they are supposed to drive. We definitely need a law to stop this and need it enforced!!

Careful doing the right thing though, I pulled over into a small roadside park to answer my cell. You know, "do the right thing". While I was talking on the phone, a cop pulls up behind me in the parking lot, blocking me in, and gives me a sobriety test!! You can't win!!

yes and go to pass them on the right and they speed up so you can't pass.
happened again today. this time on the parkweay we both got up to 100 mph.
this time i won and got in front of him and nailed the brakes in front of him and slowed him way the f*** down.
He stayed way back for the rtest of the ride home.

I have actually tapped on a guys window and asked him to check his mirrors to see the huge traffic jam that he was causing. He stayed right where he was and flipped me off.
A quick boot to his door got him to pull over. Of course, he never did get my plate number.
