I wanted to get some thoughts from the group on my car. I am just about done building it. It should run here shortly.

Here is what I have

64 Polara 500
Stock front seats
no back seats
stock glass
stock decklid, fiberglass hood
minimal sound deadening
no heater box
440 aluminum heads, water pump, PS pump, alternator housing
tubular k member (32# for k member), tubular A arms (7#)
no torsion bars
aluminum driveshaft
chromoly moser fabbed 9 inch
aluminum 9 inch case (3.70 gears wavetrac diff)
front runners and the back wheels are 52# a side
325 M&H drag radials (28 inches tall)
caltracs, leaf spring relo, split mono-leafs

Trans
4L80 4 speed overdrive (3500 stall converter)
*steep first gear, quick 2nd and 3rd
should go through the lights at 6200-6300 with this tire/gear combo

Engine
440 40 over (10.75:1 compression)
aluminum Edelbrock performer heads
hydraulic roller cam (232/236 @ 50 .583/.566 lift 112LSA)
hydraulic roller lifters and roller rockers
Team G intake manifold
1 3/4 headers
3 inch exhaust

Well it should be lighter then my 63 as it goes 3700 with me in it and its all stock body and interior with a glass hood. Also has a rollbar and frame connectors. My eng does have a 4.15 crank in my 440/493 but I run a solid flat tappet cam and I use EZ heads with mild porting. But I use the Indy dual plane intake with an 850 DP. And I race thru the full exh system. Mine runs on 92 pump also. The headers may hold you back a tad. I have hit 10.70's without any real tunning so I think your car can run in the 10.60 to 11.20 area depending on how everything works on the combo. Good luck , Ron

Thanks, I shed about 175# in k member, control arms, torsion bars etc. I am hoping the car gets down to 3300-3400 with me in it.

3350-3400 w/o driver. 11.30@116. No way 3400 w/driver. No roll bar? Plymouth is lighter than a Dodge ,3" shorter and the front bumper is about #45 lighter. My 64 Belvedere (pure race car ) is still 3120 w/o driver. Lexan, ladderbar, tubbed, light brakes, no heater, wipers, carbon fiber bumper brackets, moly tube column, light front seats, #18 K frame, aluminum drive shaft. Stock arms are #7.

It will have a roll bar. I will probably put fiberglass bumper on it too if I can find them. Eventually a decklid as well. It has wilwood discs all the way around. I guess I will have to keep coming up with ways to lighten it. Luckily I have a CNC at my disposal and a pretty good CF guy I can call on.

Man, that thing should fly! Biggest issue will be working out the launching bugs. I bet you go deep into the 11's! I have a couple questions for you, why the team G intake, and secondly why 1 3/4 sized headers, instead of 2", or 1 7/8?

Nothing critical, just curious.... It sounds like an awesome car

I bought cheapo headers to see what would fit. I have a very unique setup so I wanted to see what the fits like before dropping $1000 on headers.

were the heads ported ?? if so, what cfm & cc are they now ?? ... maybe mid 11's, maybe even lower if the heads are done well...

No. Off the shelf. But I'll probably switch to victors after the first of the year.

this looks right to me! based on the flow of those heads & your cam.
