those things have been around for a long ,they had them for tractor power take offs rear axles cars trucks you name it I think they had some where mounted on generators ,its been awhile since Ive seen them I think I think one company was called stickler
Its a good idea but terrible execution. To do that safely you need to have a way to start and stop the screw. Best off in like a drill press with a box that the wood sits in to keep it from spinning.

Yup, that guy is an idiot for going about it like he is....but you can put every kind of safety device known to man on every kind of tool there is and some idiot will hurt themselves with it anyways. Bad thing about it is we all pay for all the safety devices because of all the idiots that we're trying to protect.
