I think I just figured it out. The colors don’t match the schematic perfectly which confused me. But I believe it is for the AC/heater vacuum control. It has female spade connectors on it that should go to that control unit and the 6 way connector to the harness! Wire tracing can be a real puzzle lolCan’t say for sure but looks like a radio plug. Where was it spliced in?
The cable I was asking about was an intermediate that plugs into the harness and had the matching spade terminals to the control unit you show. I believe my harness is original and so are the connectors. In fact I just found it looking at the schematic clearly shows this.71/74s don't use that plug anywhere but just on body harness. So is not really from that car, not factory at least.
This is how the control switch looks from behind so you can see the prongs aligment

Control unit is upsided down, but you can get it.
The A/C harness plugs straight to this control with no other intermediate harness AND diff from earlier units, wires are not solded to the control, having a pigtail hanging out around. So the harness plug is SPECIFIC for this control unit.
Should try matching up 50 year old wiring colors when you're shade blind lolI think I just figured it out. The colors don’t match the schematic perfectly which confused me. Thanks Nacho! I do appreciate the help from you!! I also corrected the original post so that it may help other looking for the same answer down the line.oh! That’s different. Then that’s right! That plug is used as a pigtail for the AC control unit. Wire ends must be solded to the control unit prongs
