What is the correct speedometer length?

Speedometer Cable - I see there are two different sizes? 69 RR 727 40" or 80" which one is correct? is it all about the routing? does it matter? I know I could take the old one out and measure but it's cold, I'm feeling lazy and only want to do it once :0

I have several B cables and all are 60". Theres only one correct routing and I don't see how either a 40 or 80" will work. 40 is to short. 80 will have a loop or coil.

Wow, this is a head scratcher; a 69 charger needs 63 1/2 or a 68"

i do believe that the shorter cable is for cars with cruise control. i just bought a speedo cable ( it aint in yet coz i cant wiggle my arm to get to it under the dash ).... and it is 80 inches long i think stock ones were 70 inches....i could be wrong

The one out of my 66 Belvedere with a 904 trans is right around 62" and it's the same chassis as a 69
