What is this? Onside goes to field on alternator the other is going to ballast resistor. It cover is missing and just bought the car. And putting in eletronic ignition when I noticed it. It is mounted to fire wall.
I believe it might be a voltage regulator not sure but I believe it is. If so anybody has any idea on what brand it is so I can replace it. Because the lid missing could cause an issue later
It is the replacement electronic voltage regulator that is sold by the part store for 1969 and earlier single field alternators. Find a old point type regulator and remove the cover and install it on the one you have. It will give you the original factory look.
I have one on the fire wall of my wagon.
