This is what I have 1965 dodge coronet 500 with a 361 cid. I found a 440 cid. What I am wondering is what type of problems am I going to have switching over to a 440 from a 361?

Depends on the year of the 440. Later ones are externally balanced and have cast cranks. If you have a manual trans, you need the drilled crank which is forged. Look for weights on the torque convertor currently hooked up to the 440. If there are any, you will have to get an external balence flexplate in order to use your '65 convertor/trans (available aftermarket). If there is no weight welded to the original 440 trans, you are good to go. Also watch out for motor home engines. Heads and waterpump are different.

Since the 440 is a 'raised block' your exhaust manifolds sit about 3/4" higher in the 440. This could cause some issues with any existing exhaust you wanted to use.

Also you might need a slightly longer throttle cable due to the height.

Youll need to use the 361 oil pan... should work on the 440.

Trying to keep the back tires from spinning.

The hydrosonic propulsion indicator won't line up. The inductive plasma storage conduit will be out of alignment. The flux capacitor generator bracket will need to be modified. And don't forget about the quardamastical quantinator. It'll need to be adjusted.

And don't forget to change the muffler bearings! Like mentioned, it depends on the year of 440 you use. The later ones also used a different water pump housing with the lower hose going to the passenger side.

Kickdown linkage (if auto) is a little longer on the 440. I have modified 383 parts before to work on a 440.

Does that come with blinker fluid and what about a ford blazer steering box. I'd go with a 440 hemi myself.:jerk:

what about small block and big block k member these are different or can you get modified mounts?
