Hi all, my '65 Coronet has a front disc conversion of unknown origin and retains the original single circuit master cylinder.
I'm trying to figure out the easiest upgrade to dual master cylinder and was looking at a four bolt cast iron MC with 1" bore and a proportioning valve like the one from Right Stuff (PV71).
Will this do the job or will I need an additional valve in the rear brake line?
Thanks

Suggest you do some research on the conversions your asking about. Plenty of articles on it, and a handful of ways to go.
Sounds like someone attempted a conversion, but didn't go all the way with it. If your going the old way, using newer mopar parts that fit, most of the available articles give parts list to make the job right. That's the same thing I did on my 64.

With a good porportioning valve hooked into the rear drum brake line, it's all that's needed. But, you also need a correct distributing block.

Are you running power brakes or manual brakes?

Manual brakes require a much smaller bore master cylinder (7/8") where power brakes use a larger bore (1" to 1 1/8")

You can use a 4 mounting hole master or a two hole master with an adapter.

i would get a good diverter block(not a prop valve)to split the front and rear.then install an adjustable prop valve in the single rear line, just after the block.you never know how after market mods will act together and the adjustable valve will let you adjust out the diff.
