Hello
Looking at 2 67 gtx's with hemis. How much should the 4 speed/dana add over the automatic?

A bunch if it was me looking... A Hemi with a, "Dana & 18spline 4spd" a couple of thousand $$ extra at a minimum & up to maybe $10K more, "for a real one, to the right buyer"... Rowing the gears is much more fun on the street & more desirable than an auto, unless your drag racing of course, than they are a detriment...

An original (not a clone) 4 spd should be worth around $2500-$5000 more. Some people would not even consider an automatic but it's hard to place an exact value. Some may not want a 4spd either.
I think you have to determine what it's worth to you, either way.

Depends on the condition of the rest of the car.

The price diferential between an automatic and four speed on a number 5 car is a lot less than on a number 1 car. At the top end, it can add 10K plus to a comparable automatic. At that point, you have to figure in the production differential, overall scarcity of four speeds vs automatics, is it an original four speed or replaced and other factors like 'the fun factor'.

I have both, the 4 speeds are more fun and worth more. Maybe 20%.

My automatics are more enjoyable, and I drive them more miles.

Hope that makes since.

That's how I was thinking. 4 speed is rarer and fun, but the auto is easier for anyone to drive. I should add we don't think the four speed is born with but is a 4 speed car

If it was an automatic car converted to a 4-speed, that would lower the value to me. But you still would have the Dana value over the 8 3/4.

I paid too much for this car.. in part; the 4 speed.
old habits die hard......
:werd:
BTW; this an original big block 4 speed car...very rare for '63.

and you have to have a tach with the 4 speed! what is a muscle car without one? Makes it worth even more. I tell myself I will behave and not need it but I dont trust myself!
nice car too
