Looking for a adjustable shock that will live on the street, but tunable for the strip. Not sure if I need to worry about this or not. I thought I read somewhere that running drag shocks on the street will wear them out rapidly. I'm thinking my car will see 5-7000 miles a year.
I have cal tracs in the rear & 6 cylinder torsion bars up front.

I'd just run an adjustable drag shock. They aren't that expensive, and can be tuned to your driving.

I was wanting an adjustable, the ones I looked at weren't cheap QA-1

The best and cheap aren't in the same category. That being said I went with Viking warrior shocks, adjustable rebound and compression, can be tuned for drag racing, street driving or even road course racing, I assume the qa1 is similar. But with the forum member discount from PST they were pretty reasonable got the front pair for 305 shipped.

Basic Bilsteins are a buck apiece...and nothing does everything. I run Strange double-adjustables on the fast street-cars. AFCO's out back.

I haven't run any of the newer adjustable drag shocks, but I did run a set of Race Country (Rough Country) 90/10 drags shocks on the street years ago. I still have a set of 6-cylinder torsion bars I was going to use too. With just the shocks, the front end would bounce up/down about a foot on the highway, so I never installed the /6 torsion bars. Short version....don't run non-adjustable 90/10's on the street.

That's why I was looking at the adjustables PB. I'm not looking for a cheap shock, looking for a good one that will last on the street, & I can tune for the strip.

I would agree with 1967coronet440 on this one the Vikings are a really nice shock with lots of adjustability. Viking offers 2 lines of shocks. There is the Warrior line that has 19 position of adjustability with 361 different combinations Then there's the Crusaders line that has 21 positions of adjustment, 418 different valving combinations and mounted using a bearing type mount verses the poly mount used in the warrior Both are constructed of light weight aluminum bodies with 5/8" hard chrome plated piston rods and precision machined piston with bronze piston wrap.

Personally I have had a set on one of my own cars for over 4 years as I like to test all products that we sell prior to adding them to PST product line. What I love the most is the adjustability. I can cruise down the highway like I am in a Cadillac and with a matter of a couple clicks I'm ready for the track or a curvy back country road.

Plus we offer a members discount. The Warriors are $679 (Set of four) with discount $611 and the Crusaders (set of four) are $959 and with discount $863.

Thanks
James

James Do the front shocks have enough travel to allow 5" of front end travel on 69 B bodies? Also the rear end on my car has been lowered 1" & springs moved in. Please PM me with details. Thanks.

Just got off the phone with Jake from Viking shocks. He found me a front shock that has a little longer stroke and a little shorter compressed length. Should be just right for what I want. James at PST hooked me up. Love this group!

Just ordered my double adjustable shocks from PST. James put me in contact with Jake at Viking. Told him I wanted 5" of lift and it setting 2" lower than stock up front. Also springs moved in 1" in back and 1.5 lower than stock in back. He set me up with B202 (new version) for the front & B217 for the rear. $611 to my door. Can't wait! The new version has .75 more travel at the shock and a 1" shorter compressed length.
