Looking for a set of dollies so it's easier to move my car so I have more space to work on one side or the other. Which companies out there have the best price for all 4 wheels? Thanks in advance.

Cheapest ones will probably come from Harbour Freight or similar store that supplies the usual Chinese junk. You need to have a super clean and level floor to use them and the will still probably fold a caster over. I use them in my shop all the time to tuck a car in the corner, you just need to be careful with them.

by made in the USA

I had a couple of sets some cheap ones, with no jacking provision Made in the USA= Auto Dolly $149.95 a set of 4 w/12x16" 1500 # ea. capacity & a set my girls bought me a quite a while ago, I no longer have now {went with my old car}, Made in the USA= GoJaks/Zendex set of 4 $940+ @ $469 a pair for the 13" 1550 # ea. capacity, they were great but pricey... there are some others, I've been thinking of buying recently, from OTC Tools Easy Roller Dollies OTC-1580 {no photo} w/locking safety pins 12"wide for $141 each @ $524 for a set of 4, all prices were from Summit Racing, not sure where the OTC's were made... I try not to ever buy Harbor Freight or any other type Chinese made crap, when I can help it, they may have some, USA brands too, I don't go there much any longer... The GoJaks 4"casters were great & rolled really well, jack them up or let them down, but you pay for that convenience & USA made quality too... I guess it really depends on you budget & what type you actually want... Good luck with your choices & project

I have 2 sets of the Merrick Auto Dollies. I bought the 16 x 16 heavy duty and they are great. I can move a car by myself with them. Before buying I tried a friends Harbor Frieght model and will just say it is not worth saving a few bucks.

I have a set that I bought in Columbus years ago and I distinctly remember the vendor telling me that the difference is mostly in the casters. I kind of took it with a grain of salt as he was the salesman afterall. Still, they have served me quite well over the years. (sorry, I don't have a name or reference).

So two or three years ago I need another set as the fleet has grown. I opt for the Horror Freight cheapies and discovered all too well what the last guy was trying to tell me. These things were so bad, I thought I was going to cave the side of my car in by pushing on it just to get the casters to budge. This is a 1933 Plymouth street rod with no glass, no interior and no drivetrain. It probably weighs 1500#'s.

I ended up buying Albion casters on Ebay and installing them on the HF frames just to make thm usable.

The moral of the story is: Do your research and buy the set you get the most positive feedback about from the people that have actually used them. I love the idea of the GoJacks, but can't cough up that kind of coin so I understand the budget thing. But if you place price over quality, it will bite you in the ***.
