I am putting rear discs on my 8.75, however the disc is not sitting flush against the hub. It looks like the studs are too fat before the threaded part. Anyone know what size stud to get before i start stabbing in the dark?

btw, the wilwood kit i am using is beautiful!

the issue appears to be the "shoulder length," the original is 9/16". I figure i need 3/16th of an inch. I found some that are made by strange and others made by raybestos, but none of the sites are giving me the specs. Dorman does not have them, and i can find some that look right but they are 3' long and that will be too long for me.

Any ideas?

I do not have experience with Wilwood, but when I was having a few minor issues with my SSBC rear disc brake kit for 8.75, I called (or emialed) their tech line and usually got a answer within a day. I would hope Wilwood would do the same.

I am surprised the Wilwwod kit did not come with new wheel studs as well. The SSBC kit did.

tech support - was not a great experience. the rep would put me on hold and probably go ask someone else. The first solution was to "drill" the holes in the rotor with a 9/16" bit - brand new rotors and you have to drill them? his second solution was to grind the shoulder down on the studs which doesn't sound that safe either.

i have a few leads - maybe strange or moroso has something. I did find some 3" studs that might work but i'm hoping i don't have to go that route.

I just had the same issue with my 65 coronet with a front disc brake swap.. i ended up recieving 69 camaro rotors.. so i would call them up again and have them cross reference you part numbers beofre you waste a week trying to find a wheel stud that fits....:icon_hang: yeah i wasted a week,,,,... but my original studs from my drums worked.. but they were 3 in long
