so ive been looking around at a bunch of different places for wheels for my 72 sat but not really finding anywhere im not really looking for your typical ralleye rims im looking more for an after market look but i dont really know where i can find them i do see alot of 71-74 charger wheels that have a 5 bolt pattern like mine but im not sure if its the same fitment can anybody tell me if these wheels are the same or where i can find some cool aftermarket rims for my car....im new to muscle cars and to the forum so i dont know if this is a dumb question soooo...be gentle

You could get aftermarket http://www.themopardude.com/New_Custom_2.html but id try to get some local rallye wheels...I also saw guys talking about a yard just north of denver:from a bodies only

"If the one he is talking about is north of Denver on I-25, that is Speedway Auto salvage. Get off on the Erie exit and get on the frontage road northbound. There is erie auto parts right on the frontage road and directly east of it is speedway."

Your car has the standard Mopar 5-lug, 4 1/2" bolt circle wheel. You say you don't want stock style wheels ? Look at places like Jegs, Summit, etc. You can go retro like CRAGARS, Torq-thrusts, Centerline, or something else whatever suits you.

Wheels

I went with the classis cragar s/s's on my 71 GTX...last guy liked the 72 style RR stripes and painted them on in the early 90's.

I love the car/color ..Even the painted bumpers look good nly thing that buggs me is ... The engine size numbers on the fender look to be a bit thin-
Are those the correct decals?

LOL...no their not. Actually I came out from work one afternoon and found them on car. Seems one of my soldiers found a box of sticker numbers and letters in the shop and added them. I just left them on there.

torq thrust d's just ordered the dasser caps show em to you guys when they come in

Not that I'm the least bit biased, but I really liked the look of these. Summit's house version of Outlaw II wheels.

If you have a Discount Tire in your area I would try them. They may not have a good selection in stock but they can get a lot of wheels from the catalogs. They were easy to work with when I got aftermarket rims for my Ramcharger. They might be able to order something for you and let you see it on your vehicle in the shop before purchasing.

Tire Rack has a good selection on their website but you really need to be sure about what you buy.

That pretty much covers it. I would suggest measuring the bolt pattern, it should be 5 x 4 1/2 like said. But when ordering expensive items I like to be absolutely sure.

Here is a diagram on measuring.

I used to have a link that would display your car, then apply the type wheel you choose to the car. It might not be the right color, but you could normally get close. I can't find the link now, does anyone else have it or remember seeing it?

I love the old school Cragar SS/T's on my 71

Sorry bout the huge pic..i don't know how to re-size

I have the ION wheels, sorta a nice blend of the Cragar SS wheels, Torqs etc

But I liked they had a more dish like rim, instead of a built up rim

.
