The Edelbrock 6 pack intake was replaced by ex.produktion cast iron intake .When did this happen ?Are there early -70 cars whit Edelbrock or are there late -69 cars whit cast iron intakes ?

My recollection and understanding is that all the 69 1/2 cars had the aluminum manifold, all I ever saw did. I also think that some of the '70 cars had the aluminum manifold. The cast version did come in pretty quickly in '70 though.

I had a cast iron six pack manifold dated for 69.....it more than likely was for a early 70 build. I just can't remember the month it was casted....

If they had left over aluminum ones in 69 there would have been some early 70 cars with them I would guess to say...

Ya my guess is that if there were left over aluminum's in the parts bin they went on a few of the '70 motors, depends on the day at the plant I think. I do remember one guy with a '70 Road Runner with an OEM aluminum manifold he said was original. Everything else on the car sure seemed to be. Can't believe Chrysler bought exactly the correct number of manifolds for the number of cars produced for the A12 run.

They wouldn't buy an exact number based on models built. They would have to have some in reserve for parts Dept, defects etc....

I think that's one of those mysteries that will always be rumored, but never be authenticated. Your 1969 cast manifold certainly proved that they were gearing up for the 70's and if there ever was any installed on a 70, there had to have only been a small handful.
