When you installed your new carpet did you have to cut out a piece for the gas pedal? thanks CD:blob1:

Yes, there's usually quite a bit of trimming to be done. I also usually try to leave my carpet kit in the sun for bit if it's nice out or run a vacuum over it to relax the material before install. Use a new blade and take your time.

Thanks Pat!

:headbang:Thank for your link Pat, nice wagons, I have been asking for people to let me know where to drill the holes for my gas pedal and have gotten no answers, I have seen the pedal located in the upper rh corner on the plastic area of the carpet on 69 b-bodies but when I made holes for the pedal, the bolts barely go through the plastic, carpet and padding, this is in the rubberizzed floor board area of the carpet, do I just cut a chunk out of this or cut in the carpet areas? thanks to all best wishes CD

I'm not sure how the pedal attaches on the '69 but I assume it's similar to the earlier cars with two studs sticking out of the bottom of the pedal to go through the floor. If so then I like to use a sharp scribe or something that will pierce the carpet. Go from the underside and poke the holes through. You'll need to do this for your seat belt holes as well and it goes way smoother with a spare person. Once the "guide hole" is marked you can make a more suitable slash to fit the hardware going through. This is all done once the carpet is in it's final resting place. Hope this helps, new carpet is awesome. Keeps the place clean and sound deadens.

If you have the carpet with the rubber pad the pedal goes ahead of it so there is approx one inch of carpet still showing between the two. Also you have to remove a small square piece so that the pedal part with the bolts in it hits the metal floor and the rest of the pedal base covers the carpet. Also center it on the throttle rod roller. Any way that how I did it in my 69 road runner. I looked at alot of cars and most were in this location, of course I also didnt measure mine before I tore out the old floor either. It helps if you glue the carpet in places so it doesnt shift around.
