I'm about to install my engine (finally!) and before I do I want to make sure I connect everything properly. Can you tell me where the highlighte wire connects to?

Also... for anyone who had installed a later electronic ignition... are there wiring diagrams somewhere? I'll look again, but couldn't find it last time I looked.

**Edit: The opposite end is a ring terminal.

thanks!

Isn't that the wire that runs to the ignition switch? On my car I think it goes to the upper left connector on the upper wire connector on the firewall. Check and double check a wiring diagram and then even that could have been altered.

If the wire is brown it goes to the neutral saftey switch on
auto transmission. The ring terminal is fastened on the switch
with a nut.

If you have a 69 and older car you will have to upgrade the
charging system to 70 and newer charging system. The reason
is to keep voltage around 14v for proper operation of the ignition.
The 69 and older uses a mechanical regulator and the 70 uses an
electronic regulator.I have seen a replacement regulator for the 69 and
older on for sale parts on moparts, electronic conversion.

Hope this helps!

You are correct ply64,there should be a clip you bend over on the firewall and then it runs down to the neutral switch,The clip keeps it away from the engine

That's it! Thanks... I forgot about that!

I have upgraded the alternator/regulator, had that done while I was still driving the car.

I also found out something that I lucked out on.. the old 65 Neutral Switch will fit (and work) on the '74 727 that I am installing. My reverse light switch that was on the (removed) column is wired to a microswitch on the B&M shifter. I replaced the cable shift column with a Satellite column (no shift mechanism).

I think Saturday is the day for the new engine to go in... been a long wait!
