Well, I don't have a oil pan leak anymore.
Now I have a leak coming from behind the plate between the oil pan and trans.
I Want to know where it's coming from.

The car hasn't been driven in two years it only has about 250 miles on the motor.
Any thoughts on where it's coming from would be appreciated. Small oil leak 001.jpgSmall oil leak 002.jpg

ATF or engine oil? I'm shade blind and my wife says it's isn't red so....engine oil. It could come from any number of areas from the oil sending unit to the valley pan to the real seal or even the cam plug that's in the back. However, if it was coming from the sending unit, or the valley pan, I would think you would have oil on the outside of the bell housing too.

It's definitely oil.
It only leaks a little, if it is the rear main seal could the seal need to swell back up after sitting so long?
(What is the valley pan?)

Rear seal or could be oil pan bolts. (besides the other suggestions) If you dont use the correct ones or get the pan gaskets sealed properly, it is weep city.

definetly rear main seal, and sometimes it could be a loose oil galley plug up next to the camshaft

Valley pan is the stamped steel gasket the intake manifold sits on, sealing to the head surfaces, and closing the lifter 'valley'.

rear main seal !! not an easy fix one of the worst seals to replace good luck !!:icon_rolleyes:

And if it is, get someone who has had luck replacing the seal to do it for you. A Mopar guru if you can find one, that's what I did.

Lucas has an additive to stop seal leaks. Since its a fresh rebuild I,d bet the seal just got hard sitting those two years. The additive conditions the rubber seal. What have you got to lose, ten bucks?I know the purists will flame me now but hey its not like its a 100,000 mile wore out motor. If it quits change the oil to get it out of the system.I have had good luck with Lucas products.
