Good Morning to All! My 1967 GTX came with a heavy plastic moisture barrier that was behind the inside door panel. Can anyone direct me to where to buy new plastic?

6 mil vapor barrier from hardware store or Home Depot.
..and a $5 roll of draft seal ribbon from Ace Hardware. Black "paper" tape at the bottom if you want it OE precise.

Here's a shot of my Lynch Road OE '66 to see exactly how the factory did it.. They used 3" wide tape in '66 and looks like spray glue vs draft seal ribbon.

The plastic is tucked into the slot at bottom door, this allows any moisture to go back inside door and out the weep hole at bottom.

thanks Dadsbee. The pics are perfect! I am trying to make every aspect of this car the way it came from the factory. This will be a big help.

Good Morning! Can you tell me where to get the black paper tape?

I was told that 67 and down used the spray glue instead of dum dum. but my 67 GTX used dum dum and the black tape across the bottom. unless it was redone some time ago. looks like it has been there for a long time if it was changed. What do you think about a 67 GTX?

In post #4 He says Ace Hardware
Draft seal at the hardware store, they may very well have the tape as well. I got it from David Patik 9 years ago..

The tape is "Shurtape" CP631. It states it's just a "general purpose masking tape", but it definitely has some reinforcing fibers in it.

As I noted, my 66 is glued. It was built Dec 1965! I have no idea how for forward in time they kept shooting glue, draft seal is definitely a cleaner way to go!

Looking at the box the draft seal is actually called "Caulk Cord"...

My 66 has both, cord and spray glue 1/19/66. Panel was never off, that black tape is 3” wide and has a paper feel to it!

Looking at pass side it still has a strip of the dum dum on front edge by door that goes top to bottom, the glue is where the arm rest and window crank would be. Looks like both were done to stop the water.
The top pic shows the dum dum cord piece.

The tape is called "Gaffers Tape". Can be bought off of Amazon and some of the commercial shop supply sites. Both the two and three inch variety is available. Used on taping the wiring harnesses in place and the fresh air seals as well.
