1st post cherry broken right here. (Be gentle) :)
440 RB engine in the 66 Charger, out for rebuild. The distributor that came with it has paint all over so definitely going to replace. I am pretty much set on a new Pertronics Flame-Thrower II distributor and matching coil. But now which on to pick - the vacuum or mechanical style? Any pros or cons with either one? Reading the instructions, is the mechanical one difficult to set up?
Not a race engine, building a driver with a mild cam.
Any suggestions or feedback is much appreciated!

Welcome! If you drive it on the street I would suggest keeping it vacuum advance.

I take it the mechanical version is more for a high cam setup?
I suppose the vacuum advance setup looks more like a stock distributor. Leaning that way for now.

Vacuum. I’d call Halifax hops, have him build you one custom, he tests them and gives you the sheet. Parts are known to be good before they go on your car. He’s a member here.
