Which sealant is better for a Dana 60 cover? Ultra Black or Ultra Grey? I am using a Superformance gasket.

I don't think there's a whole lot of difference for that application, but I use grey most of the time, cuz it's high torque load.

As long as clean and oil free they are both good
And why use a gasket

If your using the gasket you shouldn't need any sealer.....BUT....I am I big fan of brushing on some permatex aviation form-a-gasket on certain gaskets like differential covers!

I use the "Ultra Grey" product as it dries hard and seals great. My experience with "Ultra Black/Red/Copper" has been that they were too rubbery and didn't seal well for me.

Gasket alone should do the job. Before all these sealants were brought to market, all we had was a gasket for sealing.

What does superformance say to use? Some of his gaskets are to be used dry.
.

Permatex actually makes a silicone designed to work with gear oil. I just retired from working 20 years at a napa auto parts store, and we carried it.The napa part # is 765-1944,or permatex # 81182.

I wouldn't use the grey unless you know you will never be taking it off again. ultra black, sparingly, let it set for 24 hrs..
