I've been slowly trying to get rid of stuff in the house for a few years, unreal how many times I've gone to Goodwill, the scrap recycler, and sold some stuff here and there. Then I look around and appears I did nada clearing the attic and garage. Anyway, a feeler of sorts; I have a few dozen car magazines, some are pretty old and others are around 20 years old several are mopar magazines I held onto with articles that interested me doing car work. I'm looking to post those for sale and not expecting much if anything for most of them other than postage. I just don't relish the thought of tossing them in the trash of someone would want them. LOL, when I tossed out my collection of old Playboy mags, the garbage collector guy looked like he was having a fun time putting those in the cab of his truck!

I still have some old Car Craft/Hot Rod maga from the mid 80s...cant bring myself to throw them away.

I got rid of just about all of my old rags but did enjoy looking through them again. Brings back a lot of memories but man, it took some time to leaf through them all. I gave a lot of them away.....

I like them (UK classic car ones only of course!.....there were no American car mags in my youth in the UK....theres only one now...."Classic American"....and its not very good!.....the writing style was very different back them....really false sounding but great to read. I like the way the pages on most of the old ones have gone from white to that coffee stained sort of colour too.....just adds character!

I kind of pride myself on my old magazine collection ( 50's, 60's, early 70's are the ones I'm talking about), but am starting to think like you. I will not just get rid of them, but am wondering who would really want and take care of them someday. Guessing my one month old grandson will probably get them, as I know my two sons would maybe look at a few and then toss 'em.

If its not Mopar specific or have something in it that is special for some reason it gets tossed. I have about 5 years worth of MCG in a box that I have been trying to give away to my buddy, he keeps saying he will come and get them....

When High Performance Mopar mag came out in the 80’s I bought 2 of every issue and put one away in sealed plastic without opening it. Probably a few years worth. Now I don’t even know where they are. I’m guessing they’re worth less than I paid for them now.

Yeah - keep thinking maybe some day I'll read through them again like when I read before falling to ZZ land. And every time I could do that just look stuff up or read articles on my phone. I don't know, maybe I'll post them and see if someone out there wants to pay the postage for them.

god I must have a 1000 back to 50,s and I do randomly read them learned a lot back then even though I have spent my whole working on cars trucks and equipment . wife has been hinting about doing something with them was thinking of giving some to local auto trade schools . and car clubs.

Put up some pictures, I’m sure someone will be happy to get them.

I got rid of mine a couple house moves ago, and regret it now that I have a man cave. Keep them, or box them up and get me a price + shipping. I'd like all the MOPAR related, Hot Rod, Car Craft, Popular Hotrodding, anything street rod and 4x4.

I'm not gonna tell ya what I got. Let's just say, I got a "few". But, my most memorable ones are a few JC Whitney catalogs from circa 1970 that I used to comb through back then. Literally.

Looks like the OP needs to ship them to you so you can read up on stuff back in the day. Old to us but brand new to you. It would be a cool time capsule.

Ok - give me a few days to gather them up, won't charge for the mags just the mailing costs. I have a HS bud who lives in Goodyear I visit every so often - maybe buy me a beer if you happen to live somewhere near there, lol.

I use to like them 20+ years ago
had 2-3, 6' stacks of them gave away to some young kids
all in those plastic folding top totes
pass on the info/collection for/to the next generation
that was truly interested...
Maybe they will end up gear-heads now too...
They may curse me in later life :poke:
I had them long enough
made room for more "other junk"
MoPar Muscle
MoPar Action
MoPar Collectors Guide
Car Craft (Camaro craft, I had a few of them too)
Hot Rod
Popular Hottroding
Rod & Custom
Street Rodder
American Rodder
Super Chevy (I raced a lot of GM stuff too)
4 Wheel & Off-Road (I like Jeeps & 4x4 trucks)
CARtoons, when I was a lil' dude
Street & Strip Annuals
Open Wheel
Super Stock Illustrated
Drag Illustrated
Motor Trend
Popular Mechanics
I had a few really old ones from my Stepdad Bob too

crap loads on Dirt Bike mags too

I'm sure that's not all, but good enough list

many I got from my Aunt Joan
as gifts/subscriptions for BD's etc.

I got tired of moving them too,
moved even more than I gave away
probably 4-5, 6' high stacks, 25-30 plastic folding top totes
30+ years of a collection

also gun & car modeling mags

it was long before the internet
we got our fix on the mag isle at the local grocery stores
couldn't wait to get the next issue

they suck today, all advert.
all big-dollar projects, donated parts, to install free,
with unlimited budgets & very lil' tech
especially MoPars, even in the MoPar related/specific mags

I have none now...

Just a couple from a friend in the southern hemisphere

When I was buying Mopar mags, 90's to 2000's I kept all of them, MCG, Mopar Action, Mopar muscle etc....I have them stored in totes right now but will eventually move them to my shop when i get shelves put up. I plan on using some sort of file organizer and have them sorted by magazine and year, then I can grab a set and bring them inside to read through at my leisure. ;)

I have a bunch too. Didn't really know how many. Going back to the 60's. I still get Mopar Action and MCG. Gave up Hemmings. Didn't know how many I had till I moved and had to lift them.
When we used to go on an island vacation I had new ones, but always enjoyed grabbing 20, 25 from way back when. they were the best. More pages, more tech and no web sites. But I enjoyed laying on a beach with my morning coffee reading.
Hell even gave some away to the Cubans. They were very curious about American
muscel cars.

The old Super Stock and Drag Illustrated magazines from the '60s are great if you like Mopar drag racing history (and who here doesn't?).
A few years ago I was cleaning out some stuff and came across a bunch of Dirt Rider magazines from when I subscribed in the '70s. I gave them to a coworker who's into bikes, and she and her husband just loved them.

Definitely don't trash them!

Put them all in a big box and sell the whole thing as a lot at a Mopar show.

Or, if you have more time you can list them individually on eBay.

I recently bought this old Hot Rod magazine from 1983 on there for $5 and it was a great read:
