Who sells custom factory style drive shafts?

My project car (1970 FM3 Satellite Conv) came without a driveshaft. Finding one has been problematic as it is a basic 318 car. I am hoping to find a place to make me a new one, all balanced and ready to install.

There is a seller on fleabay that appears to be making nice custom ones and has great feedback. They are a division of A-1 Drive Shaft.

1970 318/A904 w/8.25 rear end
7260 U-joints
26 Spline
shaft protrudes 3/4" form tail housing
58-1/4" distance between face of shaft and center of rear flange.

The 1970 Plymouth service manual has a chart of driveshaft specs for all the different cars/engines.

I would have the large 7290 on the driveshaft and use 7290/7260 combination u-joints. If later on you want a more powerful engine you upgrade the yoke.

I believe it’s a stock resto so no need for for big joints.

I have had drive line one make me two drive shafts for my cummins and the are great I got rid of the carrier bearing and went with one piece shafts in both of my trucks

That is a decent price from that Ebay seller as well. I have had Strange make me a few and those are at least $400 after shipping I believe. Bigger shaft and joints however.

I had Driveshaft Specialist out of San Antonio TX build mine. Very professional shop, they do great work. There website has a template page that explains how to properly measure and you have many options of strength based on hp.

I should measure the shaft under my work bench. Took it out of our 318 x '69 Fury II back in '78, when I put a 440 and A833 into her after attempting to blow up the 318 so I could justify the swap to my old man...

Probably not exactly what you're after, but Rob at RTB Restorations makes a dead nuts on tapered driveshaft.

The good old days. No coolant in the rad and it would overheat, "seize" and after letting it cool off it would just start back up. No oil.. brick on the pedal and it would do the same. Dad caught me on about the third restart and said "just pull the f'n thing already" !

We did the brick on the gas pedal. 383 in a 68 wagon. After several minutes, we got tired of listening to it and took the brick off

Denny's aluminum drive shafts are awesome. Paint it black if you want it to look stock.

Tatton driveshaft...Utah. just measure...and tell him what joints you want...custom built, i have had several made by him...never a question of quality.

I used Doctor Diff and got a Strange Engineering driveshaft
I upgraded to the hemi u-joints
The cost was very reasonable and I was impressed with the speed in which it shipped and arrived
