Sweet, right in my state. I'll be checking into this for my daughter's car.
Does the seam sealer hold your panels together?I thought about doing something like that but was warned against it since the dip also eats away all the seam seal. This causes a huge issue for me, mostly in the hood, roof, and trunk areas where I want the seam seal to stay put. Very hard to put in after it has been dissolved. But if you want ALL the rust gone it is probably the only way to do it.
Rather pricey but if someone is on the clock ya got to think about the hours. For a guy doing his own car on a budget thats a lot of dough....Sweet, right in my state. I'll be checking into this for my daughter's car.
I gave them a call. $2,900-3,300 for my daughter's 72 Satty and that's only the body, no doors, fenders, etc. You get the car back with a rust inhibitor then find your own E coater (Indiana). On a rusty car I'd really think about it but my next project is super clean and solid.
If you only did the body my only concern would be the cowell, I had to replace mine and they use some kind of sealer between the joint instead of the edges. The hoods usually have some form of foam or glue between the inner and outer shell to support the sheet metal. I think the rest of the sealer is applied after the bodies are together making them easy to put back it plus that stuff is usually pretty crusty anyways.Does the seam sealer hold your panels together?
Damn that would be easy. This shop is in AU. Looks like they can dip and strip a whole car at once. Is there any shop here in the states doing this? Imagine how much time this would save and how thorough it would be!

Sure looks like the same place I originally posted in Australia!I had my GTX completely stripped in a bath of alkaline solution back in 1998. Worked great. The final dipping was a neutralising & protective coating that gave sufficient time for us to return home (150 miles or so) and have the car metal prepped & epoxy primed.
Was way cheaper & faster than hand stripping, and more effective.

The owner of the stripping business used my car as his advertising for quite a few years after it was completed.
Apparently I started a trend.

@70 Viper knows the place - just around the corner.
It's in New Zealand....just to the left a bit, and a fraction south. (Looking from your end)Sure looks like the same place I originally posted in Australia!
So its the same place? Didn’t know they allowed dirty work in NZ. Well except for Boom Boom Bertha’s dance and rubb shop. It's in New Zealand....just to the left a bit, and a fraction south. (Looking from your end)
