To now theres no plans to come out with a reproduction B-Body. But I see
Dynacorn Classic Bodies have the E-body available. Beyond my budget I imagine, Anyone have a clue why the Challenger or Cuda are in it and the Super Bees and Roadrunners, ect... arent in the mix? The Cuda and Challenger reproductions were licensed by Chrysler according to the article.

agreed. i love the b-body look way more than the ebody. my guess is based on hollywoods promotion of the challenger as americas main muscle car - have u seen the movies that came out recently? there is 3 movies i have seen this year that has a 70s challenger somewhere in the movie..

$18K is what they want. Figure 2K for Media blasting the old stuff, 4K for new metal, and 100 hrs at $60 an hr to put it in new metal, 12K so far...tough call!!! Plus, what I've seen, and not heard, but observed is Dynacorp Camaro convertible body's are poorly assembled. Not sure about this one...

Better and thicker steel, all coated with EDP (electro deposition process) M coating for corrode reasons They also have better welds then original. I didn't know a price and I should have added for those who don't get the magazine that its in the 2011 April issue of Mopar Muscle Magazine if anyone wants to take a look and read about it.
No plans for A-Bodys either. Right now these are the hardtops and no plans ahead yet for the convertible. Thanks for the info on prices. Ron

You can buy nearly the entire B body in parts from AMD.

All of the complete repo bodies begin with the pony cars, Camaros, Mustangs, etc. because that is where the demand is today.

Thanks 696, I knew you could do this but the whole thing assembled and it comes with the doors on them as well. I am just curious why not the A and B body's as well, this is way out of my league when it comes to doing something such as this, Id love to do it though but id rather it be a 69 RR. With Chrysler giving the ok It doesn't make sense to me why the others cant be and im sure there is some type of explanation. I don't know anything but what the article points out, it was said they had original blue prints from 70 to do this so maybe it involves something such as this. and like i said i thought you all would be interested to know why that one and the Cuda but no others. thank you for your input. Ron

Probably the biggest reason they did an E body is there's basicly only 2. Cuda and Challenger. So many B bodies to choose from and not enough people willing to shell out 18 grand. I'd like to see a 68-70 Charger but owners of those cars might not want to see the market "flooded" with these repop bodies and possibly lowering the value of their cars.
I'm thinking these are great for doing a ProTouring type of car. Would hate to see someone get one of these and simply do a serial number swap to try and make it a legit, original car.

There are a ton of Mopars in movies lately unfortunitly it seems they all are getting wrecked it seems, Look at all the 68-69 Chargers that are in movies & wrecked, I just saw a trailer for a new Nicholos Cage movie & there wrecking another 69 Charger, it kind of pees me off some times. I 'm realy a 68-70 Roadrunner guy my self but have owned a bunch of 68-70 Chargers & hate to see them get wrecked all the time. If they were to make a re-pro body of a 71 Roadrunner I would jump at the oppertunity to start with a virgin sheet metal car.

Just because Dynacorn said they had no plans to do a b-body doesn't mean they don't. a few years ago on their website they had a questions section someone asked them the question about doing a cuda and they said they had no plans in the future to do any mopar. They may have to work out license issues with mopar.

I hope they never start making the B-bodies. Thease cars time came and went, I really don't want to see 69 road runners become as common as Camrys

my .02

I agree. There would be some cheap casts that would be sold...It would be common place.

Well, I do not myself think they would be as common as a Camry, the Cuda and Challenger isint. Today you cant just go to a local dealer and order a B-Body, where IF I had the money I would love the option of getting a brand new 68-70 RR. I haven't checked on title and restoration options, but have thought how that does work. Its just that with the MOPARS we here of Cuda, Challenger, BOWTIES Camaro, Chevelle's, fords mustangs, and of course the mustang. maybe they will someday produce these B-Bodies, ill never be able to thats a fact but I do hope they do. 18,000 IS a lot of money, But after a few restores ive done myself cutting corners anywhere I can is 18,000 really that much money? When you start figuring prices for interior, suspension, rear ends and such, which is being put in and on the real deal anyway. I had all three of the originals, now mine is a clone, I just couldnt pass up the shape it was in and RR hood, interior already on it, at my age i just don"t care if its a clone, my ride, my last one unless i get terribly lucky... BUDNICKS, Ive read where they produce these cars for the movies, and use different camera tech. for making them and it isint what were led to believe, I have know idea if this is correct but its a good thought, i feel the same as you with wasting a classic car making some movie to make everyone rich, or for any other reason. NO hate mail, just my 2 cents here. :icon_hang:
