I'm in the last stages of my 65 Coronet sedan project. Today we cut the hole in the hood for the air cleaner. Turned out awesome. Bolted the hood on and promptly SCRATCHED MY FENDER BAD !!!! Now it needs repainted . Some days you should not go to the garage...

I can only give you my utmost sympathy. Other than flowers what else can I do....?

I am really sorry to hear that. I am not to painting yet but that has to be all of our biggest fears. Hopefully you didn't dent it in.

Seems all I do is hold my breath while I'm assembling the car, now that it's painted!

I even pulled the front fenders back off while installing the engine/trans.

Sorry for your mishap....I guess I'm not the only one that has stuff like that happen.

Why do people paint before assembly? I painted the door jambs, inside of hood and trunk lid. engine bay. and put everything together before painting the whole car. That way, all panels color matched...................................MO
