...they were her words not mine. :p

It was our elder son's 13th birthday today, and I had arranged a session on the local go-karts at Formula E. The fastest electric kart track in the country. I know the owner very well, so he sorted us out a session before they officially opened for the day. :headbang:
I told Cameron he could invite a friend (Josh) along, and of course little brother Jacob was racing also. Mum was on camera duty for the morning.
I have some video at the end of this thread showing the group that followed us...all young guys in their 20's...on a stag party (Bachelor party) - they only did 2 laps and nearly got thrown out for being idiots - too many crashes and smashing into each other.

Pre-race with tickets in hand

Driver's briefing ....

Out we go for a warm-up lap at half speed...

The black smudge on the nearest pillar was made by some clown with the right-front tyre of a kart...the staff leave it there to show what can happen if you disobey the rules....

Podium finish...(in no particular order) ...even though Dad had the fastest time :headbang:

Had lunch at Wendy's followed by dinner in the evening at a fine Steak House....

Prime Fillet Steak with blue cheese sauce and bacon. :hello2:

here are the guys that followed us....this circuit feels fast when your butt is only two inches off the floor.

Good job Kiwi, pass on my birthday wishes to your son.

Great times Kiwi - it is those times Cameron will remember fondly for the rest of his life (and you too!).

Happy birthday to Cameron!

(...and nice job to you for being on the wife's "good" list for a day!!!)

Its my birthday in May.......... Can I go? I'd have to agree with your wife, that looks like a blast and I'm sure they'll beg to do it again. Congrats

When I see your location of 'Half Moon Bay' I thought you were from California, just outside of San Francisco. The go-cart title corrected that. Every time I see that location name I think of my starting point of some beautiful Pacific Coast Highway California trips. Looking at Google Earth, Half Moon Bay in NZ looks beautiful too.

Your sons will remember those fun days they had with you for the rest of their lives.

Thanks for the birthday wishes for my son guys....it means a lot to me also. I have a teenager now
...and Half Moon Bay in NZ is a beautiful little spot in the country...I wish it was San Fran, but sadly it is not. :headbang:

Looks like fun Kiwi, your a good dad too... In my eyes anyway...LOL
Also wish Cameron a belated Happy B-day from me too....

Your thread title mislead my twisted mind.I was not prepared for what followed. LOL.

I don't think you did "pretty well" on it . . . I think you HIT it out of the park ! !

Ahem . . . you wanna be my dad too ? ? ? ( please ) . . . that had to be a great day ! !

You need to start being a little less "hands on" and have your wife pull it off for you:)

Nice job, looks like a blast!
