I believe Daisy Duke started out with one of those. Nice car.
not really, she always wanted the white challenger from vanishing point, we looked but really couldn't afford one, we are also building a 1963 chevy c10 short/fleet, so budgets are shot, we found this 72 which is her birth year, and she fell in love with it...this is her plan for it,except the wheels

Welcome to the Mopar world. Looks like you're going to need a LOT of parts, but the good news is most of this year is reproduced. In other good news, since you're doing a clone, originality points don't count, so you've got a good deal of flexibility.
These highlights should help...
1. For the interior, 1971-1974 B body parts will work for this car. Some styling changed from year to year, and from model to model, but it all fits. The only real variance is the 74 cars had retractable seatbelts, so they have two piece lower quarter panel covers.
2. For the exterior, you need primarily 71-72 body parts. 71-74 hoods and trunk lids interchange, but that's it.
3. Roadrunner and Satellite hoods for 71-72 are different styles. The Roadrunner hood is different from yours, but if you want to do a clone with an air grabber, you've got the right hood already... you just need the air grabber insert and parts.
4. You've got the weakest drivetrain there is. I would replace with a 440 engine, 727 transmission, and 8.75 rear, but if you want to stay small block you can go with a 340/360, 727, and 8.25 rear... and if you live near north Florida I have a 8.25 rear you would be welcome to.
I think the color is passion purple?... I may be wrong, but is more purply than plum crazy..and it is a word now if it wasntI posted before I saw your post. Plum Crazy Purple is a beautiful color on our cars although that is more purply... is purply a word?
I am in Texas..but I might make a road trip for the rear end..lol..Welcome to the Mopar world. Looks like you're going to need a LOT of parts, but the good news is most of this year is reproduced. we live in Bandera, cowboy capital of the world..I really want to put a big block in it, but with 2 projects going at once it may get the small block put back in it for now, she has a volkswagon cabriotlet now, going up for sale to buy mopar parts, don't think she really knows what fast is...yetWhere at in Texas? I am in dallas, nice to have another mopar fan in the state. Your wife sounds pretty awesome, a purple roadrunner and a 4 speed!? My fiance want a plum crazy 70 charger but it has to be a big engine because she doesn't want a 318. I told her, thanks for picking one of the most expensive cars possible and a 318 is more than enough to get you into trouble. Even though I can't afford 2 mopars she says if it doesn't end in a 40, she doesn't want it lol.
okay, excuse my ignorance, will a 400 require changing the k member? You can find affordable big blocks online. From what I understand, you can build a pretty dang stout 400 and it's cheaper than a 440. At least that's what my brother said about his 400 when he was pricing it out. Plus 400s were options on that car too so its not unrealistic to see that engine in a 72.
No it won't. A V8 k-member will work fora big or small block. You will just need the correct mounts for the engine.okay, excuse my ignorance, will a 400 require changing the k member?
