will a 73 b body 8 1/4 rear end work on a 73 duster with a slant six ?

I am currently storing my car in a buddy's garage which he told me 200 bucks for the whole winter is all he wants. so yesterday he called and asked if I would just give him my stock 8 1/4 rear end out of my 73 roadrunner for his 73 duster with a slant 6. he knows im upgrading to a 8 3/4 for my big block swap and his rear end is bad and making loud noise. I told him I would ask to see if it will even work.

71-74 B body axle is one of the widest made. Almost as wide as a C body axle.

Perches are pretty different too, both spacing and iso-clamp.
