I HATE MY HOOKERS!!! (Headers, that is)

For as long as they have been making these you would think they would have the design tweaked to perfection. I had to clearance several tubes just to get them to bolt on. They rattle like crazy as they hit the t-bars. Yes, I can clearance them more there, but now I am burning through the #3 plug boot (with Diest fiberglass boot protector on it) every 10 miles or so because the tube is literally up against the boot. I have never had headers with this many problems.

I love the way the Max Wedge exhaust goes up and over making plug and wire changes a breeze. I realize these wont flow quite as well as headers and I am willing to give that up in exchange for all the benefits of the MW manifolds.

Does anyone know if these will actually fit a '66 Charger? I am hoping the changes from the '65 to '66 B-body wasnt that great and that they will work for me.

They will not fit, on the '62-'65 cars the engine sits 2 inches farther forward than on your '66 Charger. I suggest the 383/440 HP manifolds '68 up. TTI makes headers that actually fit but they are pricey.

i agree. the magnum hipo's or tti's. tti is the best fitting aftermarket exhaust i've ever used.

Hedman fits better than Hooker in a few body styles, but i haven't used either in many many years.

That's a shame. I guess I will have to beat these Hookers until they work right. :icon_rambo: I feel the HP manifolds wont work for me- I don't want to give up that much flow. My 440 should be putting out close to 500 hp as it is.

I am trying to put the MW manifolds on my 68 RR with MW heads

Does no one make a motor mount to move the engine so they will fit
