Hi all,

On an early B-Body ( Dodge 440 ) after taking the nut off of the arms should the wiper arm just pull off or is there something else holding it on that needs to be released? Maybe a little corrosion? Seems to not want to pull off. :edgy:

It is just corrosion!Use some PB Blaster, let it soak a little while! Most of the time the nut will come off before the wiper assbly.

you could hold the blade and slowly work it up and down across the winshield, should work loose....or hold the base of the arm and tap the wiper stud with a hammer .... either one should work for you ..

The nut is not supposed to come off the arm, there is a lock ringing underneath to keep it on the arm.The arms with nuts are the hardest to get off usually due to overtightning.Soak it with a good penetrant and take a block of wood and a good flat blade screwdriver and raise the edge opposite the blade side.

Round II

Hi All,

Hope everyone had a nice Easter. :bunny:

Ok. I've used CRC and WD40 to soak these arms where they connect to wiper mechanism the best that I could. Then I loosened the nut and tried prying up on them to no avail. I'll continue to put the spray to them. Also tapped on the nut a little with a block of wood and hammer.

Any other tricks anyone have with out doing damage to the arms ( they're in pretty good shape.

Thanks,
Joe
