I have my 1968 wiper motor, could someone tell me what date code info is 2889 984, 73691, 0438. Bob Horman
thanks I just thought I was on it lol!43rd week of '68.
2889984 is the part number.
Yes, that's the part number. Isn't a 4-digit number designate the day of the year ? (ex. 0438 = 43rd day of 1968 )43rd week of '68.

As above. 43rd day of 1968.
Yep, I flew by that as well and agreed. 43rd DAY, not week. Good catch..Hold the Fort !
0438- Isn’t it the 43rd day of 1968. Hence the 3 digits in front of the 8 to make a 4 digit code in all Ie: it could be built up to 3658 for the 365 day of 1968.
Otherwise they wouldn’t need a 4 digit code. They would only ever need a total of 3 digits to represent the week that it was made. Ie 528 would be 52nd week of 1968. There would be no need for the 0 on Roberts motors if it was a week year code
see post #5. I was a catcher in little league, as well.Yep, I flew by that as well and agreed. 43rd DAY, not week. Good catch..
I stand corrected since I only ever had the 2 speed, which only used a month and 2 digit year for a date code.Yes, that's the part number. Isn't a 4-digit number designate the day of the year ? (ex. 0438 = 43rd day of 1968 )

Thank you one and all. My 1968 dodge Charger was born in Detroit on March 4, 1968, so this I believe is the original wiper motor. Thanks, one and all of you for all your help decoding my windshield wiper motor. Bob HormanView attachment 1758893 " You need correctin' ? "
