Took off my cowl screens and found this, my wiper trans was lying underneath this mess. Will I need just the bushings to connect or are there more pieces that are required? rat nest.jpg

I think besides the bushing you will need the round clip that goes over it and holds the bushing in place.

In about the same predicament on my 73, i do have the arm the that goes over to the d-side wiper, but nothing else ...does anyone have a good schematic/picture of the related parts needed for the 73/74 wiper linkage ..?

I do. 2-spd or 3-spd?

i think 2 speed, but not for sure...I'm assuming by your post that there is a difference in the linkage between the two..?

I should have took pics of the linkage last night, One is straight that runs to both wiper arms and the other goes from the d/s wiper to the motor. So the bushings are the only thing that connect everything together? Thats GREAT!!!

I picked up the bushings yesterday, Not gonna put it back together till I clean out and destroy the rust thats in the cowl area.

Ya get that drain at the bottom all clean and clear.

Yep the link and main arm are are different between to two.
I thought I had some pics but I don't so I'll get some this morning. Need them for my files too.

Getting that bushing snapped on over the driver's side pivot is gonna be real fun.

Took me two hours with my face planted in the windshield, my left arm nearly pinned behind my back, my wrist bent in a totally unnatural position, sandwiched in a space that was 1/8" too small to fit, let alone squeeze the slip joint pliers held 1" below the joint, and at an angle almost parralel to my fingers, all the while scrapng layers of skin off my forearm :):):)

Good luck, though

Ya they are a pain in the butt to them to snap together. I remove everything including the pivots and assemble it on the bench. Then re-install the assembly.

Sounds like im going to take those 6 bolts out and do it the easier way!

So, how does the wiper motor rod and d/s rod connect, is there room on 1 bushing for them to fit?
