Hello there, I've been in A-body but just picked up a 63 Fury convert so now I'm checking out the B-body forum. When I looked at car the seller pointed out that he turned on wipers and they no longer worked. He said up till then they had always worked. I now have car at my place and I'm wondering if this is common and is there a easy fix or what should I be looking for? Fuse, fusible link or could the motor be gone after 50 years? I'll check back later, thanks

I would start at the fuse, then check the switch.

Check all the easy stuff first like 5.7 says. Fuse, voltage to the motor etc. If you switch the wipers on, can you hear the motor running? The gears on the wiper motor are made of nylon that is now 40+ years old and a lot of times they are stripped/ broken or jammed. Not easy to find those gears but I found some on Ebay a few years ago and repaired the wiper motor in my Belvedere. Good luck.

Thanks guys, I realized last night that my dash lights and rear lights are also out so there must be a fuse issue. Just got car and starting to work through things. Thanks for reply, I'm sure I'll be on here again. :)
