Power on both sides of Ammeter but nothing at the Alternator. Had everything working good the other day, unhooked the positive, then tried it tonight and no power at the switch or fuse box. Frustrating. Can cross solenoid over and engine will turn.

Where did you unhook the positive? At the ammeter? Try this, take both wires on the ammeter and hook to one post, this will tell you if your ammeter is open and not allowing current to pass through it to the ignition circuit. If you still have the ammeter hooked up, if you turn the key on and jump the solenoid, it should fire.

I have power on both sides of the Ammeter, unhooked the positive from the battery. So is the ammeter charged from the fusebox, or through the fusible link coming from the starter solenoid?. Why would it be intermittent? If I have power on the black wire side of the ammeter, and notheing at the alternator, where would it make sense that I am losing it?

bad wire or connection at bulkhead connector?
