Just wondering how i go about wiring my aftermarket gauges to come on when i turn the headlights on. I dont want the lights on constantly. Just at night. Is there an easy way to do this without going to the headlight switch. Thanks

Wire it into the dash light fuse. Then they will also dim when you dim the dash lights. Also they will come on with just the parking lights.

Thank you. I heard of fuse tap connectors that allow you to tap into the glassfuse ends

some aftermarket gauges use led's and are not dimmable so be careful there. i know this because i tried the same thing, ended up disconnecting the dimmer switch altogether

Instead of at the fuse, any one of the "Yellow" bullet connectors are for the lighting circuit.

Don't connect to the glass fuse, it's better (and easier) to get under the dash and connect to the spade connections behind the fuse box. They typically have a few extras, unless your car came with every available option. If there are no extra spade connections, you can just buy a piggy back connector.

Another idea, if you are running a bunch of gauges: mount a 3 row terminal block under the dash and run a single lead for power, a single lead for light circuit and then just run 1 ground lead. This is what I did and it cleans up the underdash wiring nicely (I run a water temp, trans temp, volt, oil pressure, air/fuel and tachometer).

What year is your car? At least in the early 60's mopars I think the instrument light feeds were orange.

Yep, what Rick62 said.. orange

My mistake, door light switches are yellow, instrument lights were orange.
