RECENTLY PURCHASED A 1963 SPORT FURY "GOLDEN COMMANDO" 383 4 BBL W/ 10to1 COMPRESSION, FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING, POWER STEERING AND BRAKES, AND PUSH BUTTON AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, AND BLOCK WAS CRACKED. LOOKING FOR A 1962 OR 1963 383 COMPLETE ENGINE, LONG BLOCK OR SHORT BLOCK, EITHER REBUILT OR NEEDING REBUILD. THANKS

I have a 63 383. It is stuck, needs rebuilt. I have 200.00 in it.

Sounds like a perfect match!
pics of the 63 would be nice ;). Good luck

Ahh, the beauty of pre-68 Mopars.

Will do this weekend. I'll get at it tomorrow after 4:30 when I get home.

Hey man, my motor is a 64. However, my buddy has a 63! He is going to check numbers and look up this thread and let you know. Hope it works out.

Hi I have a 63 Polara 4 dr I am parting. Has a 383 I believe(could be 361)not stuck but is a 2brl motor. I think the short block still used flat top pistons though. It turns over or atleast it did last year..I am in Pa. so it could be picked up. Pm if interested $200 bare long block

If you dont find one, I'm 'Moparker's friend in OH, I have a 63 383(2 barrel) with a 9-18-62 casting date.I'm asking $250w/o the valve covers. let me know if you need it, but it is close to an 8 hr drive from where your at in VA.

If the crack isn't too bad, that can fixed w/o welding

I am definitely interested in your 9-18-62 cast motor--do you think the block is sound? Also, where are you at in Ohio?--I have some family in that direction, so the drive probably won't matter. Your price is fine if you think the everything is ok as a basis for a rebuild, and I don't need the valve covers anyway. Do you have any way to get the motor into my truck(or trailer if I use that). I do have a wheeled engine cradle that we could set motor into and roll it into truck or trailer if you have a lift to set into the cradle. Thanks--Rick

I'm located in the town of Randolph, about 15 miles east of Akron, at rt44 & rt224. Easy access to interstate76. The heads are off of the motor and I believe it to be crack free-it has always had antifreeze in it. As long as the weather doesn't get sloppy, I have a cherry-picker to lift it with, Bill

Bill--thanks for the response--I would like to buy your 383 engine. I have family not too far from Akron area, so the drive won't bother me. I sent you a private message with my e-mail and tel no. Please give me a call so we can arrange payment and a ime to do this--thanks--Rick
