I recently bought a ’72 road runner project car. It is a 400HP with a 727 AT. It is in pieces and it does not have the original motor or trans. It’s missing lots of parts and pieces. I’ve looked around and I’m having trouble finding good information on the ’72 road runner. Number matching is not top priority, but the same bolt up is. It makes installing or replacing parts a little easier. Anyway here are my questions:

What is the correct ’72 400 intake manifold casting number for a Carter Thermoquad? Is this is the correct casting number, 3614046.

What are the correct casting numbers for ’72 400 road runner exhaust manifolds?
Do these manifolds have the same outlets and in the same location as the ’68 and ’69 383 road runner exhaust manifolds? (If so, I have a set I can use) Any pics would be great. Please post pictures!

Are all the ’72 400 road runner water pump inlets on the driver’s side above the oil filter? Pictures and casting numbers would be appreciated.

It is set up for a 26” radiator. What year radiators will work? There are 3 numbers for ’72 3574611, 3574612, and 3574613. Will other years bolt up and have the same inlet and outlet locations?

As always, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, John

Thanks, but it doesn't give casting numbers. Although the casting numbers usually only have the last digit different than the part number.

I have rhe correct intake if needed

Yes that is the correct casting # for a 72 400. It is listed in the casting # section on MyMopar.com.

Here is a shot of the front of my 73 as it was being all put back together. Not sure if the numbers are the same (intake is not) but you may be able to zoom and see.
As far as the radiator it depends on what the rad support will take. Mine has a 28. But overall anything with in/out matching will work I would think.
Also you could try the folks over at the RRnest. I think it's www.roadrunnernest.com
