Another one found we will call it the Henry's Dart

Our son was working at a guys house, replacing the roof. He asked the owner about a car under a cover in the garage. Turns out it's a 340 4 speed dart that's been sitting there since 1985. Our son showed the owner a few pictures of my cars. The owner said he would consider selling it. So our son sent me the info and a few pics. Talked to the guy today. He put a resonable price of 12k on it. But since it does not run he said he negotiable. Going to look at it this saturday. Half tempted to jump in the truck and go now. He owned it since 1976, said its original motor and trans. Also has the original exhaust manifolds.

Original Hawaii car. Current owner says he owned it since 1976. Parked in 1985. Been in the garage ever since. He has the 340 exhaust manifolds he removed to install headers. But threw away the original carb when he replaced it with the Holley carb. I have 5 other original Hawaii cars. All depends on what side of the island and how it was stored will show how much rust there is. This car is on the south side of the island. and inland from the beach. He say's very little rust. Will see when I go look. The front bumper shows some rust. But from the few pics our son was able to take looks promising.

Mine was in Hawaii from birth to 2005. It had its share of rust, a lot under the trim.

I had a Hemi Challenger, originally ordered by and delivered to a serviceman on Guam, it was Heater Delete, Also had an AM/Cassette radio.... There was no FM radio on Guam in 1971...
Island cars can be odd balls, options that made sense everywhere else aren't useful on an island....

Also had a Land Cruiser, originally from Hawaii.... Stateside Land Cruisers normally had 4.10 gearing... Island Land Cruisers had 4.56 gears... Not much need for higher speed driving & more gear means better 4x4 capabilities..
