Will the transmission mount and cross member line up? This would tell you if the motor is sitting right as far as forward and back.

Is this a hemi or wedge block? if hemi is it one with the mounting ears like a wedge? Does the transmission mount and cross member fit?

Engine must be to far back and the bell is up against the tunnel.

My advice is buy an efi tank. Your tank can me modified but its a lot of work.

Test the circuit with a volt meter or test light. You are missing something very simple.

You need to get the right one for your needs. Some are just overflow and do not allow returning of the fluid back to the radiator. A recovery style allows the fluid to return to the radiator. Some caps will not work correctly with recovery systems.

What was your first pump? Seems odd two doing the same. Is it flooding?

Make sure the sending unit is grounded.

Do not be surprised if it looks like a screen door when you are done brushing and scraping.
