Posting for a friend. He is installing a fans shroud using a bracket kit from classic industries. There seems to be no way to install it so we're convinced there is a trick somewhere.

Here is the clip

And here is where it's believed to go.

Can someone enlighten me on how this gets installed?

It appears the nut assembly would installed so that the other side ends up being the visible portion, but how is the question.

I just did this 6 months ago but I can’t exactly remember how but I will take look at mine to refresh my memory

After looking at mine it didn’t help much and I can't remember if they go in from the side or fish in between the coils and bracket. They do install where you are thinking though

No problem at all, thanks for trying. It appears to me fishing it in is likely the best bet.

Anyone else have a suggestion?

The more I think it seems I’m remembering they go in from the side through the hole. Can you get some better pics of the radiator? I have the shroud brackets and shroud installed on mine so I can’t really see much on it.

I'll ask him to take some more. I've not seen it up close so this is 2nd party info. As I look at the pics, it appears it could be fished from the front.

I'll probably wait to see if he's called the vendor and see what they say. I guess i shouldn't be surprised there weren't any instructions.

very good timing.... I'm sitting here with the same pieces trying to figure out how that is supposed to go in that square hole.... I downloaded some instructions but the radiator supports have a slot to slip in the nuts and then get them in place.... mine does not have that.... my radiator support has the same square holes to mount the shroud to. the kit says its for a 62 to 65 car.... was going to try and figure something out this weekend.

I got no instruction on the shroud or the bracket kit...... so that means nobody knows how to install them.....

I'll ask the shadow, the shadow knows all....

What year vehicle and model and radiator size with A/C or not as there several variations for shroud attachment by year etc. BTW.....does your friend not know how to ask for himself? The pix looks like a "TINNERMAN" style of fastner.....more info is needed....

Of course he does, but doesn't have an account here so I was doing him a favor. This is irrelevant though because I'm curios about it since I will likely need to do it someday so....

69 Charger
Non factory 440 (1977)
A/C
26" rad
Unsure of part numbers at the moment.

Your sugestion about the tinnerman was a good one. Looked up the catalog and they show the install procedure for the screw type.
Should be able to put a screw in the nut and mimic this.

Looks like the wrong radiator for a 69 charger with a 26” wide opening. Should look like this, studs that point towards the engine. 3 on the left and 2 on the right.
They are not separate brackets that attach.

Edit: it is the wrong radiator. Lower radiator hose should be on the left side. 77 440 that makes sense. Has the wrong water pump housing.

OK..... got the fan shroud on and those bracket bolt retainers install as those pictures show a few posts back.... those tabs are on the outside of the radiator support housing. You can just get the bolt started then push over on the bolt and you will hear the retainer click in. I had to use a phillips head screw driver to get a couple of them to click in because I couldn't get the bolts to start. It takes some messing around but they do fit and the rest of the kit and shroud goes on fairly easy after that. Having 2 people there is not a bad idea especially when installing the shroud. I have a picture of the retainer and the bolt in place.... you can make out the tabs on the left side of the square hole....
geez its a crap photo but you can see how they fit I hope......
