For Sale: Not Mine 1966 Dodge Coronet 500 426 hemi

For an automatic? Yes, it IS black/red and I'm a black car guy. Asking to understand, not bash.
Priced about right if the underside is good... $170K Cdn / $120 US.

Just going by my 66 Hemi Satellite's value. It's currently at just shy of $200K cdn according to Hagerty.

Sharp car with some detailing issues but I think he will be a long time getting close to that kind of money for a 66 auto. But, someone with more money than he knows what to do with might snap it up. Never know.

That statement really surprises me coming from a guy with a '66 Hemi car. What do you think your car is worth?

Hagerty doesn't even state "add 10% for 4 gear" on a 66 like they do for say '69 Bees.

Ahem...

That’s on me for not including photos? Must’ve misunderstood the rules by not including photos. I assumed being that they’re in the link provided, I’m good. Won’t happen again. Just spreading the Mopar love.

1966 Dodge Coronet 500 426 hemi

Not mine, know nothing about it. Is this $ what these are bringing these days? Beautiful Coronet, but that’s a lot of cheese

That’s where my train of thought was on it

So you think 4 speed cars are worth the same as Hagerty guides says?

To me that there shows the guides are off base.

And now days, there's wholesale and retail pricing. Retail is auction house and classic car dealer. Easier to find a car if yours was damaged beyond repair. Like a Hagerty insurance claim. But you will pay 25% +/- more at a dealer/auction.

Believe me when I say I wish that was a real-world value and my car was worth close to that, but I pay attention to what the cars are actually selling for and it’s just a very unfortunate trend that the 66/67 Hemi cars don’t get the love the 68-71 Hemis do. I intend no offense but I like the 66/67 cars a lot better than the later ones, but I can’t deny what I see. Also, I can see just enough in those few pictures to tell me that while it looks great in shiny black paint, there is a lot of questionable details on the car and we haven’t even see the underside. If it were a drop top it would probably be in the market. But I don’t particularly like convertibles in muscle cars so there again I’m just not reflective of the market and demographics. If I’m wrong, I’m wrong.

I noticed a 69 Hemi Roadrunner went for something like $269,000 recently so the B-Body Hemi cars seem to be catching up to the E-Body Hemi cars. I’m sure it was an amazing fresh, documented car & restoration. Hopefully it will drag the 66/67 cars up in value too.

You don't like Hemi convertibles I'm offended.:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I know - that crossed my mind writing it but I figured you would forgive me. :praying:

I think it’s overpriced. 66-67 Hemi cars are on the bottom of value I do really like them I just bought a number matching very nice 1969 Hemi 4 speed for what they are asking.

I wouldn't kick it out of my garage...
Unless of course I was behind the damn wheel and about to take it out for a RIP! :)

By the way, here's how Hagerty Valuation comes up with their numbers:
Classic Car, Truck and Motorcycle Values | Hagerty Valuation Tool®
I'd say it's about as good a reflection of the current market on a car as anything...
and yes, 4 speed cars do go for slightly more dollars (although I bet that's a downsliding trend
in the near future, as more and more younger folks who can't drive a stick come into play).

4 SPD Hemi cars go for significantly more. About 15-20% and greater. And they sell faster.

There’s someone here that just bought a Red 4spd. It sure sounded like he would not have been interested if it was an auto.

I may be biased here , But there goes nuttin.

1st off and this is My 2 cents . The buyin for a real deal running driving hemi car starts in the $50-60k range. And those will need some work
Case in point is the member here that bought one

Full turnkey, $80-90 K and up, And thats for the nice well done 1966 cars , More, MUCH more for 68 and later cars . And again, IMO only

Mine is a Plymouth which seems to pull slightly more money than same in a Dodge And Ive turned down more than the asking on this car for mine, Real money offers btw

IMO , Price might be a tad high, But then again a lot can change on in person inspection.

But color combination is second to none. IMO, the color combination adds $10k above any other ( MY 2cents ) Auto will hold it back TO SOME people. Im not one of them. Had my car been a 4spd. I would not have bought it

A 1966 Coronet is near the bottom of the food chain , The fact its a 500 will help, a little

I know of a blue with blk interior 66 coronet 500 sold in past 12 months for upper 70s , It was not the original / correct engine or trans.
This one is MUCH better color combination and its the Correct / original engine.

If I were in the market.( Thanks god I am not btw ) Me and this seller would be talking. If it all ckd out in person. I would get real serious in the $80-90K range This would make for a killer bookend with my car
